Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)

Otoplasty is the reconstruction or repositioning of ear deformities, such as ears that stick out to far from the head, cartilage deformities, asymmetries of the ears (one ear being larger or smaller than the other) and trauma to the ears. Surgical correction can be performed on both ears at the same time in ages as young as 5. The incisions are usually made on the back of the ears to minimizing visible scarring. This procedure is performed on children under general anesthesia and on adults under local with IV sedation. Recovery time can vary from a few days for adults and 5-7 days in children.
